Spacious accommodation with unique features like patio doors opening to expansive gardens. The atmosphere reflects a rustic hunting lodge charm with distinctive decor that feels inviting and quaint.
Parking in the woods might be a hassle, especially with luggage. The route to the accommodation involves navigating winding spiral stairs, which can be a nuisance after a long day. Some decor elements, like the threadbare stair carpets and the coffee table with cup stains, hint at a need for maintenance. The lighting in certain areas is subpar.

Had really comfortable 1 night here. The room was spotless and impressive with fine bathroom and central heating, an iron and a work desk. The decor was traditional and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The service was terrific during my stay.

The location is gorgeous, and the whole place has charm & history. The staff were really good, super friendly and helpful. My room was cozy and warm, really comfy. Breakfast was served quickly and was way better than any restaurant.
Was a bit disappointed that the bar didn't open until later and our room could've been a bit more updated. The bathroom felt a little old-fashioned.

Marvellous and charming setting.
Historic building in the middle of Thurso. And near to a Scottish manor house, the river, and the ferry port at Scrabster. Central heating, TV set and a writing table in the room and the exceptionally comfortable bed. Large separate bathroom...

Perfect for our group getaway, offering plenty of space and a private dining room to celebrate a birthday. The surroundings were peaceful, and we enjoyed walking along the river. The local surfing community was a great addition to our experience!
One downside was that there wasn't a fridge available to keep drinks cool. This was a minor inconvenience but worth mentioning.
